Water levels are so low, mob bodies from the 70’s are popping up. Lake Mead is considered one of deadliest Lakes in the nation. Since the lake was created in the 1930s, around 300 people have drowned there. That’s in addition to other bodies that died from “other means” that may be in the lake. A sixth body has been found. Now half a dozen bodies have popped back up to the surface and into the headlines. May 1, 2022– the first human body was found stuffed in a barrel on an embankment in Hemenway Harbor. Clark County Coroner declared the gun shot made it a homicide. Police say the victim was shot in the head, execution-style, and crammed into the drum — historically a mob method for disposing of bodies. May 7, 2022-the second human body was found in Callville Bay in Lake Mead National Recreation Area after two paddle boarders. July 25, 2022– the third set of remains were found Boulder Beach. Aug. 6, 2022-the fourth set of human remains were found. Skeletal remains were found at Swim Beach in Lake Mead National Recreation Area Aug. 18, 202– the fourth set of human remains were found triggering Park rangers to set a perimeter to recover the remains with the support from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s dive team. The Clark County Medical Examiner has also been contacted. The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be provided at this time. Oct. 17, 2022-the fourth set of human remains were found by a diver. National Park Service dive team then did a full search a day later, where they found a full set of skeletal remains.
