CD3 (R) DREW JOHNSON DEBT DEAL IS DOG WITH FLEAS

May 31, 2023

As the debt ceiling approaches, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is declaring victory with his Biden debt deal. But base Republicans are not so thrilled. The U.S. government has printed more money in the past three years than in the entire history of our country leading to historic inflation reflected in everything from housing to food prices. This week, I just went to the dollar store for the first time in a while, and nothing was a dollar. The new hot discount store is called Five Below.

Republican candidates for Congress are already distancing themselves from the deal. Nevada CD3 Republican Candidate Drew Johnson, a self-described:

“Professionally, Drew is a well-known government waste expert and author. As a taxpayer advocate and budget watchdog, he has exposed hundreds of billions of dollars in waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers’ money at all levels of government that has led directly to reduced spending and lower taxes.”

Drew issued 360 News an exclusive statement on the debt deal

As a fiscal conservative, there’s plenty to like and plenty to hate about the debt ceiling agreement. The spending restrictions, work requirements for food stamps, clawbacks of unused Covid funds, and reduction to Democrats’ absurd funding boost to the IRS are all positive steps. The reality, however, is the deal locks in the current outrageously inflated spending levels forever. There’s no incentive to make reasonable and much-needed post-Covid cuts to our bloated federal budget. The result will be more wasted tax dollars, more inflation, and more borrowing. All of that is bad news for struggling Americans.

We asked other candidates in the race for statements as well. When we get them we will provide them too.
