(R)TOM ROBERTS VOTES yes FOR “VOTE BY EMAIL” IN NEVADA

Last week the Nevada Legislative Select Interim Committee voted to approve new rules to vote by email in Nevada.  The Select Interim Committee is made up of six Republicans and six Democrats. The Select Interim Committee consists of Assemblyman Steve Yeager, Chair (D), Assemblyman Jason Frierson, Vice Chair (Speaker) (D), Senator Nicole Cannizzaro (D), Senator Moises Denis (D), Senator Scott Hammond (R), Senator Joseph Hardy (R), Senator Dallas Harris (D), Senator James Settelmeyer (R), Assemblywoman Jill Dickman (R), Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui (D), Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner (R), and Assemblyman Tom Roberts (R).

Nevada currently allows overseas military and their families to register to vote by emailing to the Nevada Secretary of State’s office and or their county registrar’s office a request for an absentee ballot. The new rules passed by the Nevada Legislative Select Interim Committee expands that to people with a “disability”. The person must sign an affidavit in support of their disability. But there is no doctor’s note or any formal medical certification required to access this new email system to request a ballot. They can use their consumer email systems like Gmail and Hotmail. There is no security process in place to verify the ballots. Many online business websites now require a 2 step verification process. Nevada doesn’t even have a one step verification process.

In recent polls, 80% of Republicans feel the election system in American has serious security problems.

In March 2021, the Nevada Legislature voted to support passage of a bill making it easier for people with disabilities to register and vote.
AB121 was represented by Democrats who sponsored the bill,

“makes available to all disabled people the same infrastructure currently used by uniformed military and those serving overseas. The disabled, like those in the military, would be able to register electronically, request an absentee ballot electronically and cast their ballot”

AB121 also requires the Secretary of State to set procedures for local election officials for the handling, accepting and counting of absentee ballots “received from disabled voters through an electronic system”.
It further provides that the deadline for receiving, accepting and recording those ballots from those with disabilities is the 7 p.m. closure of the polls on election day, the same as for military voters.

When Assemblyman Tom Roberts voted for the original bill, AB121, back in March 2021 he was only one of 4 Republicans to do so. But the overwhelming majority of Republicans (10 out of 14) voted against AB121.

“I opposed AB121, vote by email law, when it was passed by Democrats in the regular session and I oppose the Nevada Secretary of State’s regulations the Nevada Legislative Select Interim Committee. They cannot assure their system is secure.”

“I’m not comfortable at all that the technology is sufficient to guarantee election integrity at this when it comes to vote by email.”

Assemblywoman Jill Dickman, and Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner also voted against “vote by email” regulations last week on the Nevada Legislative Select Interim Committee. But four Republicans voted for vote by email helping to pass the law including:

Assemblyman Tom Roberts (R)

Senator Scott Hammond (R)

Senator Joseph Hardy (R)

Senator James Settelmeyer (R)

So folks all over the country, and the world for that matter, can claim they are disabled eligible voters in Nevada elections and there is zero accountability or ability to regulate who is actually using this new system.

On November 6, 2020 360 News reported the following:

“A group of computer geeks downloaded every name, every address of every vote cast this week in Nevada from Clark County Elections Department and Washoe County Elections Department. Then they ran all those names through a computer data system that cross referenced them with data from the Credit Reporting Company Experian and found some information that demands further investigation.

They found, so far, 726 votes cast in Clark County by people who moved away. They found another 2,325  votes cast in Washoe County by folks who moved away.

So far, that’s possibly 3,051 illegal votes cast in Nevada. According to the NV Secretary of State, Joe Biden leads Pres. Trump in Nevada by around 13,000 votes with thousands more to be counted.

June 14, 2022, Due Date for Submittals by Computer Using the System Established by the Secretary of State, known as EASE: Military and overseas residents must submit an FPCA sent by e-mail or fax for the June 14, 2022 State/Federal Primary Election no later than June 14, 2022 (transmission date using EASE) to register to vote or update an existing registration and to request a mail ballot. More information about EASE may be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
