In an open letter, penned March 11, 2019, Sheriff Henriod states “I believe the law is unenforceable. There is no firearms registry in Nevada (Which I would never support). This means that when a firearm changes ownership there is no way to tell who it belonged to.” But that is the entire point of the new universal background check laws now isn’t it? Henriod goes on to state “To reiterate my stance on SB143-I do not and will not support this law.” No comment to date from any of Democrat leaders in the Legislature or the Governor in response to Sheriff Henriod’s open letter.
