Last night, a Las Vegas Metro Police Officer was shot in the head outside Circus Circus working during the Black Lives Matter riots. The officer is in grave condition on life support. According to court records, 20-year-old Edgar Samaniego, has been charged this morning with Attempted murder – with the use of a deadly weapon.

According to court records in Clark County Justice Court, Samaniego was arrested on April 2, 2020 on one count of possession of a dangerous substance, a Gross Misdemeanor and one count a DUI. Samaniego was released upon paying a $4,000 bail. He was actually due back in Court today for a status check. His previous court hearings appear to have been cancelled.

No word yet on whether he has a juvenile record.

Over 30 LVMPD officers have been injured over the last few nights of riots in Las Vegas. Gov. Sisolak is still refusing to call out the National Guard in Las Vegas.
