“SECURE THE BORDER” BILL

Nevada Dem from Congressional District 3 Susie Lee voted no against H.R. 2—Secure the Border Act, a stand-alone border bill. Obviously, Dems don’t mind 7 million illegal crossings since Biden took office. She must believe Biden’s claims that our border is secure.

House Judiciary, Homeland Security, Ways and Means, Education and the Workforce, and Foreign Affairs committees all contributed to the passing of H.R. 2 last year.

H.R. 2 will

…restart construction of the border wall, increase funding for border agents, upgraded border technology, reinstate Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy, place new rules on asylum seekers, and modernize E-verify, the database employers use to verify immigration status.

H.R. 2 increases penalties for over staying visas and fines for unlawfully entering the country

(Sec. 601) This section increases the civil penalties for unlawful entry into the United States and establishes criminal penalties for overstaying a visa.

An individual apprehended while unlawfully entering the United States shall be subject to a fine of at least $500 and up to $1,000 (currently at least $50 and up to $250).

If an individual overstays a visa (or otherwise fails to comply with the conditions of a visa) for 10 days or more, on first offense the individual shall be subject to fines or imprisonment for up to six months, or both. For subsequent violations, the individual shall be subject to fines or imprisonment of up to two years, or both.

Can you imagine if the U.S. fined every illegal alien $1,000 for unlawfully crossing the border and jailed them for up to 2 years? That would end illegal immigration overnight.

Lee refused to give any explanation or statement for her no vote for the H.R. 2 Secure The Border Act; she just voted with every single House Democrat who voted against securing our border. Now The senate refuses to bring H.R.2 to the floor for a vote.
