Dems claimed global warming—I mean, climate change—was causing low water levels across Nevada and demanding more government power. Of course, the Earth goes through cycles that we humans have nothing to do with. Here’s a fact Dems don’t teach in public schools. The climate has been changing forever, not just in the last 100 years. The temperature on Earth was much warmer 900 years ago than it is today, when the Vikings had farms. Yes, Greenland used to be green. Our own government admits it in a 2017 article in the Smithsonian magazine, titled Why Did Greenland’s Vikings Vanish? “They (the Vikings) discovered Greenland during a time known as the Medieval Warm Period, which lasted from about 900 to 1300 AD. Sea ice decreased during those centuries, so sailing from Scandinavia to Greenland became less hazardous. Longer growing seasons made it feasible to graze cattle, sheep and goats in the meadows along sheltered fjords on Greenland’s southwest coast. In short, the Vikings simply transplanted their medieval European lifestyle to an uninhabited new land, theirs for the taking.” In 1400 AD, the greatest challenge (for the Vikings) —and the coup de grâce—came when the climate began to cool, triggered by an event on the far side of the world.” This demonstrates Dems’ climate change is a fraud. The temperatures on Earth have radically warmed and cooled over the last 2,000 years without gas-powered cars. I guess God doesn’t watch MSNBC. The drought is officially over in Northern Nevada. They received so much rain and snow this season that Governor Lombardo was forced to declare a state of Emergency because the snow is melting causing wide spread flooding. The Sierras snow pack is so deep that it currently contains roughly 30 million acre-feet of water — or more water than Lake Mead, the nation’s largest reservoir, according to a Times analysis of snow sensor data FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabeth Ray Communications Director CARSON CITY, NV – This evening, Governor Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency due to flooding, mudslides, and other issues resulting from seasonal water runoff across northern Nevada. Due to an unprecedented winter snowpack, counties and tribal areas are now experiencing significant snowmelt and runoff, which has threatened to overwhelm regional infrastructure, rivers, and reservoirs. Impacted areas include: Churchill County, Douglas County, Elko County, Eureka County, the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe, Humboldt County, Lincoln County, Lyon County, Storey County, and the Walker River Paiute Tribe. The declaration of emergency from Governor Lombardo will enable the state and impacted counties and tribes to receive federal assistance as they work to protect citizens, repair infrastructure damage, and mitigate further flooding. Recent snowmelt projections estimate an additional seven weeks of regional flooding impacts, and the emergency declaration may be amended to include additional counties in the coming days. Please see the following statement from Governor Lombardo: “Tonight, I am declaring a state of emergency due to the impact of the unprecedented snow melt across northern Nevada. As snow melt flooding threatens infrastructure damage to our communities, I urge all residents to follow local guidance, remain alert, and to proactively plan transportation routes. My office will continue to partner with local, state, and federal agencies to provide direction, support, and resources where needed.”
