As businesses shutter across the State, Sisolak said he won’t reopen the state until there’s a vaccine. So bars that were shut down under his orders last week with 24 hour notice, have no expectation of when they may open again if ever since no vaccine has been approved by the FDA to date. There are a few vaccines in testing but there is real concern for the safety of any COVID19 vaccine that’s rushed to market under political and economic pressure. In 2013, there was a Corona Virus outbreak and there was never a safe vaccine produced.

Sisiolak said in a webinar with members of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce

“Frankly in dealing with my health experts, I don’t think there’s any hope to getting back to where we were until we have a vaccine,” explained Governor Sisolak during the webinar. “In dealing with the President and the Vice President on calls, they continue to be very hopeful that we could have something late this year or early next year.”

Sisolak was sued this week by some 60 bar and tavern owners after he shut them down.
