Trump received double the votes Obama received in his primary races in 2012 and four times the votes in Oklahoma. GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted “We are seeing proof of the huge enthusiasm for Donald Trump in several states: In NC, POTUS has already blown past the # of votes he got in 2016. In OK, POTUS is on pace to receive 4 TIMES the # of votes of the last two incumbent presidents.” Comparing Trump to Obama in 2012, we find the following figures: NH: 129,696 votes (Trump) / 49,080 votes (Obama) OK: 273,562 / 64,389 MA: 224,752 / 127,909 TN: 339,638 / 80,705 VT: 34,000 / 40,247 AL: 708,883 / 241,167 TX: 1,883,799 / 520,410 NC: 747,038 / 766,077 In Texas, Biden got 661,231 votes, Bernie got 591,952, Bloomberg got 289,340 and Warren got 227,422. President Trump got 1,883,799. The General Election in November will be all about turnout. Dems are highly motivated to vote against Trump, but Republicans are just as motivated to vote for Trump and against the Dems. The primary clearly shows Trump surging providing a possible glimpse at November.
