HomePoliticsWILL RINO SOS CEGASVKE STIP TO TRUMP’S LAWSUIT TO STOP MAIL-IN-BALLOTS? Politics WILL RINO SOS CEGASVKE STIP TO TRUMP’S LAWSUIT TO STOP MAIL-IN-BALLOTS? Aug 6, 2020 Rob Lauer Political Reporter President Trump made good on his threat to sue Nevada to stop the Mail-In-Ballot Scheme cooked up by Dems over the weekend. But what’s really interesting is that the suit only names Nevada Secretary of State (SOS) Barbara Cegasvke “in her official capacity” as the defendant, not Governor Sisolak. President Trump and his campaign are suing SOS Cegavske in federal court. The complaint seeks declaratory and injunctive relief. In other words, the lawsuit seeks to declare Nevada’s law, Assembly Bill 4, illegal and seeks an order blocking its implementation in the upcoming November General election. SOS Cegavske, as the sole duly elected constitutional officer, charged with enforcing election laws, has the right not to fight the lawsuit and sign a stipulation agreeing to the injunction. In 2016, a lawsuit filed by the Las Vegas ACLU and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund to enforce the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA) sought to compel the Nevada DMV to transmit ALL voter registration applications to the elections department from “non-citizens”. Nevada provides illegal aliens with driver’s licenses. In April 2017, 360 News reported SOS Cegavske signed off on a Memorandum of Understanding, dated March 13, 2017, with the Las Vegas ACLU and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund settling the lawsuit. Under the MOU signed off by Cegavske, the DMV would transmit ALL voter registrations, even from non-citizens to the various county election departments and Secretary of State’s office. BTW, according to the Clark County Elections Department they only tossed 30 voter registrations from non-citizens in 2019. The announcement: https://www.demos.org/press-release/voting-rights-advocates-announce-agreement-state-nevada-modernize-voter-registration Statement issued by Sec. Cegavske about the MPU dated March 13, 2017: “We are grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the cooperative efforts that led to this Memorandum of Understanding,” said Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske. “In developing a system that will automatically transmit voter registration information from the Department of Motor Vehicles to county election officials, the parties have significantly improved Nevada’s voter registration process by adding additional efficiencies and safeguards.” This single decision by SOS Cegasvke led to Steve Sisolak becoming the first Democrat elected Governor of Nevada since 1996. So, if SOS Cegasvke can sign off on a lawsuit settlement with the Las Vegas ACLU and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund, then she can sign off on a settlement and MOU with President Trump to block Assembly Bill AB4. SOS Cegasvke recently said she doesn’t know how the state is going to fund the $5 million it would need to hold an all mail-in-ballot election in this fall, but she hasn’t come out and opposed the law either. After all, she’s the RINO who signed off on the June primary Mail-in-Ballot election over the objects of Pres. Trump back in March. Nevada SOS Cegasvke has done Harry Reid’s bidding at every turn. Now with the entire nation watching and the President of the United States suing her, will SOS Cegasvke work with President Trump or openly oppose him once again?
