SISOLAK REFUSES TO RELEASE NURSING HOME CV19 DEATH DATA

March 6, 2021

Rob Lauer Political Reporter

This week, 360 News served Gov. Sisolak’s Health Department with a public records request for the following list of data:

Please provide the following data:

  1. Number of infected Nevada nursing home staff listed by facility from March 1, 2020 thru March 1, 2021
  2. Number of infected Nevada nursing home residents listed by facility from March 1, 2020 thru March 1, 2021
  3. Number of Nevada Nursing home staff deaths listed by facility from March 1, 2020 thru March 1, 2021.
  4. Number of Nevada Nursing home resident’s deaths listed by facility from March 1, 2020 thru March 1, 2021.

This was their formal response “Due to the amount of public information requests, we currently estimate eight to ten weeks or longer for completion from the time your request is being researched and documents compiled, or at that time we will provide a reasonable time frame of when a response can be made to your request.”

One might think the Nursing home data would be readily available since those are the folks most at risk. In fact, there are websites that have published most of this data already, but 360 is seeking the most up to date data directly from Sisolak’s Health department.

360 responded as follows:

The information we requested should be available at your fingertips. You have until next week, five days, before we initiate legal action to compel compliance.”
