California and Nevada residential users now pay 66% more for electricity than homeowners in the rest of the U.S. Now try multiplying your current summer electric bill by 500%, because that’s what’s happened in Europe in just one year. After the Soviet Union was destroyed, the communists migrated to the Green parties in Europe. The Reds became the Greens. Europe’s efforts to impose the Green New Deal are already a disaster. Republican Gov. Lombardo just announced he withdraw Nevada from the Commie Paris Climate Accords. Lombardo stated as he signed an Executive Order “The alliance’s goals were “ambitious and well-intentioned” but they “conflict with Nevada’s energy policy objectives.” Per Executive Order 2023-007, the state’s energy policy will be focused on developing and maintaining a robust, diverse energy supply portfolio and a balanced approach to electric and natural gas energy supply and transportation fuels. Additionally, Nevada’s energy portfolio will work to advance sustainability and reliability by including solar, wind, geothermal, hydropower, natural gas, hydrogen, energy storage, and other resources needed to meet the vast energy demands in the state. In other words, I’m keeping my truck. The Executive Director of Nevada’s Conservation League, Paul Selberg, fired back at Lombardo. “We are outraged by Governor Lombardo’s nonsensical withdrawal of Nevada from the U.S. Climate Alliance,” he said. “He took this action without consulting everyday Nevadans, advocacy groups, or leaders within the environmental community, and it contradicts his own administration’s goals of economic diversification through clean energy.” BTW Mr. Selbarg, according to public records, purchased a new 2,200-square-foot home last year on May 23, 2022. He’s not living in a tiny home off the grid with solar power. A couple of the key objectives of the Paris Accord are to ban gas and diesel cars and trucks, like California is trying to do, and force folks to live in tiny homes.
