HELLER CALLS FOR SPECIAL PROSECUTOR TO INVESTIGATE TRUMP RUSSIA CONNECTION AFTER COMEY FIRING

May 15, 2017

Last week, at the Latin Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Nevada Republican U.S. Senator Heller called for a special prosecutor to investigate alleged ties begin President Trump and Russia during the election. Heller went on to say “Russia’s attempt to interfere with our elections should be a top priority.”

After calling Comey a “boy scout” Heller said “He (trump) has the right to get rid of the FBI director if that’s what he chooses to do, His explanation and his timing — yes, that’s bothersome to me.” as reported by other news outlets.

Last year Senator Heller was a never Trumper, but Heller has voted for most, if not all, of Trump’s cabinet nominees and for Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. But Heller has opposed Trump’s efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare, citing his concern about the projected 12 million people who may leave the Health Insurance market.
