On April 19, 2018, 360Daily.net served LVMPD Public Information Officer, Laura Meltzer, with the following Freedom of Information request regarding the whereabouts of the number two man, Assistant Sheriff Tom Roberts on Oct. 1, 2017 during the Vegas Mass shooting:

“Under the Nevada Open Records Act (NRS.239), we are requesting an opportunity to obtain copies of any and all public records in whatever medium they may be, including any internal documents, emails and official logs of the location of former Assistant Sheriff Tom Roberts on September 31, 2017 at 8pm through October 1, 2017 at 8pm.”

LVMPD had 10 days under the law to respond. So far they have refused to even acknowledge the FIOA request.

Former Assistant, Sheriff Tom Roberts, who drew a $316,000 annual compensation package in 2017, was supposed to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when a shooter perched on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, on Oct. 1, 2017, opened fire on the concert goers at the Route 91 Concert below killing 58 people and injuring over 500 more.

According to law enforcement sources, Roberts, who was assigned as Metro’s SWAT Lead and as the Homeland Security Representative from Metro should have been at the Fusion Center, but Roberts was nowhere to be found for over an hour after the shooting started (a joint Federal & Local Law enforce Center building to coordinate during a terrorist attack). SWAT never showed to the Mandalay Bay and Roberts failed to show at Homeland Security during the attack.

According to the official story from Lombardo, as he told it in a 60 minutes episode, a ragtag group of Metro officers assembled outside the room of the shooter on the 32nd Floor and awaited for orders to enter the shooter’s suite, for over 120 minutes after the shooting had started. Were they awaiting orders from Roberts during that time? That’s one of the questions the public wants to know.

Both Assistant Sheriffs, Tom Roberts and Fasulo were considered the next in line to be Sheriff and both were shown the door after the October 1, 2017 Vegas shootings. Both took early retirement at the end of 2017. Their early retirement has raised red flags with many in the public leaving even more questions than answers about the Oct. Vegas Mass Shooting now.

Lombardo has fought the media tooth and nail in court to conceal any records related to the Vegas Mass Shooting for the last seven months. He just lost his third motion in District Court to stop news outlets from getting access to the records.

Tom Roberts is running for Assembly District 13 this year in the Republican Primary.
