WHY DIDN’T OBAMA & DEMOCRATS TRY TO SAVE THE 1,000 CARRIER JOBS TRUMP JUST SAVED? TRUMP’S ECONOMIC NATIONALISM IN ACTION

Today, Carrier and President Donald Trump announced a deal to keep a Carrier factory open and save 1,000 American jobs there. Carrier announced earlier this year they planned on moving the plant to Mexico and lay off the workers. These are United Steelworkers Local 1999 jobs. Ford also recently announced they would not move jobs and manufacturing to Mexico either after Trump pressured them to stay in Kentucky.

The national media is now stuck reporting the story and it raises the question, why didn’t the Democrats and President Obama do anything to stop these job losses? Trade unions have, for years, blindly followed the Democratic party and funded their political power with dues from their members. But since Nafta was passed by Bill Clinton in the 90’s, over 78,000 factories have been closed and 7 million blue collar (mostly Union) jobs destroyed by globalization. Globalization that Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats still support. Instead of fighting for union jobs, Democrats fight Donald Trump and his working class supporters, mostly laid off factory workers, accusing them of racism and calling them names. This may be why Donald Trump won a HUUGE number of trade union members’ vote in the election. Donald Trump and many Republicans now see an opening to steal away trade unions from the Democrats.

This is what Donald Trump means when he calls for a new Economic Nationalism. Democrats tried in the election to define Economic Nationalism as Nazi like scary rhetoric. But President Elect Trump just defined Economic Nationalism with his actions as, our national government fighting and competing for American jobs and for American interests around the world instead of redistribution our jobs, our factories and our wealth to the third world.

The fact is, Donald Trump is not even president yet and he has saved more jobs in a month, by convincing Ford and Carrier to stay in the US, than Obama has saved in 8 years. Why didn’t Obama try to save those Union jobs? Could Hillary have done this? Would Hillary have tried to save those jobs? Because Obama and the Democratic Party value Globalization more than they value the American Worker. And that is why they lost the eleciton in the rust belt.
