The race for Las Vegas City Council Ward 2 is hotter than a blow torch with the most powerful people in Las Vegas fighting over the outcome. The race between City Councilman Bob Beers and Christina Roush has erupted into full blown open political warfare. The super wealthy homeowners in Queensridge have funded Roush’s campaign while the developer and his associates are funding Bob Beers campaign. Both groups are accusing the other of selling out to special interests.

The open warfare broke out over the developer/owner of the Badlands Golf Course deciding to exercise their 30 year old entitlement rights to build hundreds of new homes wiping out the golf course in Queensridge.

Their war wasn’t over according to the homeowners groups on March 22, 2017 when District Court Judge Nancy Alf dismissed the last request for declaratory relief by the Queensridge homeowners. Nope they are convinced the City Council has the authority to wipe out the entitlements of the developer and have thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars into Roush’s campaign war chest to defeat Council Bob Beers.
With early voting already under way and election day on April 4, 2017both candidates are fighting for every vote in the typically super low turnout off year city council election.

360Daily.net did invite Christina Roush to come on our show for an interview and she declined but did issue a statement:
Bob Beers is trying to distort the facts once again from the FACT that his developers have lined his pockets at $76,000 and have spent tens of thousands of dollars creating a PAC that smears and lies about me.”  
“Beers is trying to lump all residents that live within the Queensridge development as “rich fat cats.” But if you look at the majority of residents who own homes in the master planned community, they are the working class families living in average homes with moderate mortgages in which they are trying to pay.  While at the same time, they are experiencing declining property values thanks solely to the TRUE richest fattest cat – who is the developer proposing to get even richer by putting high-density buildings on the Badlands golf course.”
