VEGAS LAWYER BRANDON PHILLIPS, MULTIPLE SANCTIONS & REPRIMANDS, NV BAR FAILING TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC, AGAIN

After spending the last 12 years interviewing lawyers running for Judge and other offices, watching lawyers in court and advocating for real change in our judicial system, I have learned one thing. Character matters. When a lawyer shows a continuous pattern of violating his duties to his own clients, the system needs to protect the public. But once again we see the Nevada Bar protecting unethical, horrible lawyers like Brandon Phillips, with a record of screwing over his clients time and time again.

BTW these are the cases filed with the NV Bar that we know of. The NV Bar refused to tell us how many other clients filed complaints against Brandon Phillips.

According to the Nevada State Bar’s website, Las Vegas Lawyer, Brandon Phillips, between 2017 and 2019 was sanctioned twice by the Nevada Supreme Court for failing to file documents for his client, and reprimanded by the Nevada Bar twice, for you guested it, failing to follow through for his clients. In the August 2017 official reprimand, Phillips was convicted by the Nevada Bar for failing to represent his client in tax court, specifically violating “Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (Competency) A lawyer shall provide competent representation to a client. Competent representation requires the legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness and preparation reasonably necessary for the representation.”

Las Vegas Lawyer Brandon Phillips literally broke the very first rule on the books for being a lawyer, not once, but repeatedly over a two year period. But Phillips wasn’t disbarred or even suspended. This is a text book case of the system protecting a horrible lawyer and failing to protect the public.

Over the last two weeks the Nevada Supreme Court ruled in favor of Veterans in Politics and me for exposing bad lawyers like Brandon Phillips, not once but twice in two cases that are now landmark rulings.
