REPUBLICANS DEMAND GOVERNOR SANDOVAL KEEP HIS WORD AND FUND ESA’S

October 18, 2016

Behind the scenes of the Special Session to fund the Raiders Stadium last week in Carson City, many Republican lawmakers were promised by the Governor’s staff, specifically Cory Christensen, he would find a way to fund Education Savings Accounts if they would vote for the Raider’s Stadium. Eight thousand students are in a holding pattern waiting on funding for their education.

ESA’s provide up to $5,700 per child to be used at a private school of their choice. The Nevada Supreme Court found the law constitutional last month, however they struck down the funding mechanism requiring the Governor and State legislature to fix it.

Several lawmakers told NEWSMAX TV LAS VEGAS in private, that Mr. Christensen told them Democrats would not support the Stadium if they brought up ESA’s in the special session. So he promised them the Governor had a plan to use a committee and or executive order to fund the ESA’s 20 million dollars. Republican voters are very upset over the tax increase for the Stadium. Funding ESA’s would provide elected Republicans desperately needed political cover in the election starting this Saturday.

Tomorrow, the Presidential Debate comes to Las Vegas at UNLV. NEWSMAXTV Will be providing commentary and complete coverage.
