Today the State Assembly voted to increase Clark County sales state by 0.1% to pay for 300 more Metro police officers. Murders are up by 100% this year. Not everyone supported the 2nd tax increase in 2 years for more cops. NEWSMAXTV Las Vegas interviewed assemblyman Ira Hanson who voted no.

The bill now goes to the State Senate where it is anticipated to pass. The Assembly is also hearing testimony regarding funding of the proposed Raiders Stadium today. There is a small growing group of lawmakers attempting to block the $750 million dollar public funding effort for the stadium. The senate approved the stadium bill Tuesday night. With just a week and a half before early voting starts, the pressure is on lawmakers to finish up and get back on the campaign trail.
