OVER 2K CCSD BUREAUCRATS MAKE OVER $200k

As Clark County School Teachers threaten to walk out and strike for more money, again, we thought it would help to see where all the money is actually going—to the bureaucrats, not the teachers, of course.

The Clark County School District employs more than 40,000 people, including 18,000 teachers. CCSD has an annual budget of more than $8 billion, and has more than 300,000 students. In 2022, the highest-paid employee at CCSD was Superintendent Jesus Jara, costing taxpayers $$437,391.00 in total compensation. By comparison, back in 2018, Superintendent William Patrick Skorkowsky, was paid $363,263.54. And we are still dead last in the nation.

Clark County Nevada Teacher’s Starting Salary for the 2023 to 2024 school year is $50,115 for a beginning teacher in Column 1 ( Estimated a bachelor’s** degree) and no experience. Last year, teachers received a $7K pay raise .

The Nevada Policy Research Institute’s website provides a detailed look inside the budget of the Clark County School District, including who and where they spend your tax dollars.

Every year, for the past 20 years, Nevada has elected politicians who claim they need to raise taxes to raise Nevada’s dead-last national education rankings. In 2009, Nevada politicians doubled business taxes from $250 per year to $500 per year. In 2015, under Governor Sandoval and a Republican-controlled legislature, they created the Commerce Tax, worth $1.3 billion, the largest tax increase in the history of Nevada, meant to “fix education”.

The state of Nevada pays CCSD $12K  a year for every student. Money is not the answer, competition is. Florida was once again ranked number one for  education for the 7th year in a row. The state’s high school graduation rate was 3.7 percentage points above the national average. According to Gov. Ron DeSantis, he credits the school choice vouchers he made available to every parent for his state’s success. Nevada was ranked dead last.

Perhaps their salaries need to be tied to performance? What a concept! People shouldn’t be paid just for showing up. They need to perform. Participation trophies are for losers.
