NV SEC BARBARA CEGAVSKE ATTACKS PRESIDENT TRUMP’S VOTER FRAUD ALLEGATIONS

Today, President Trump called for a “Major investigation into voter fraud including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal ” in the 2016 election including dead people who apparently voted.

But Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske declared yesterday that Nevada had no voter fraud and today rebuked President Trump’s ascertain that there was massive voter fraud in the general election last year.

Here is Cegavske’s press release in response to President Trump’s order today.

(Carson City, NV; January 25, 2017) – In response to President Trump’s claim that millions of people voted illegally in last year’s presidential election, Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske issues the following statement:

“There is no evidence of voters illegally casting ballots at the most recent election in Nevada.  The Secretary of State’s office is aware of attempted fraud related to voter registration in Nevada; however, with the help of local election officials, we were able to investigate and make one arrest.  Additional investigations related to voter registration fraud are ongoing.  Anybody with evidence of voter fraud in Nevada is encouraged to file a complaint with the Secretary of State’s office.  Complaint forms can be found on the Secretary of State’s website at www.nvsos.gov.”

Additionally, the National Association of Secretaries of State, a nonpartisan organization including members from all 50 states, has issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s claims:

“We are not aware of any evidence that supports the voter fraud claims made by President Trump, but we are open to learning more about the Administration’s concerns. In the lead up to the November 2016 election, secretaries of state expressed their confidence in the systemic integrity of our election process as a bipartisan group, and they stand behind that statement today.”
