NV DEMS’ TAX INCREASES NOW CAUCUS BLOCKED BY REPUBLICANS UNDER SUPER MAJORITY RULES

November 28, 2019

During the general election, Republican loyalists screamed hysterically that a vote for Sisolak was a vote for higher taxes forgetting about the super majority rule in the Senate. Now that Keith Pickard won his State Senate race in District 20 by a whopping 28 votes in a recount, the Dems are blocked from any tax increases in the upcoming session without peeling off at least one Republican.

And that has always been the rub. Republicans like Roberson, campaigned on blocking Dems from raising taxes in Nevada, then screwed over their own base voters and raise taxes anyways. We’ve seen this over and over like ground hog day the movie. We try and wake up from the nightmare but it keeps happening over and over again.

Republican turn coat Assemblyman James Oscarson lost his seat in the primary to Dennis Hof out in Nye County. And after Roberson after he lost the primary in CD 3 to Danny Tarkanian in 2016, and took a shellacking in the primary and general elections in 2018, the message is clear. If you screw over the Republican base your political career is over.

So here are the list of Republicans we need to hold accountable not raise our taxes this session.

Republican    NV State Senators
District 12 Joseph Hardy
District 14    Ira Hansen
District 16    Ben Kieckhefer
District 17  James A. Settelmeyer
District 20     Keith Pickard
