Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford joined Democrat AG’s from 11 states, including Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont, in a federal lawsuit against the Biden FDA to deregulate the abortion pill mifepristone.

The subject of the FDA restriction is called “Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy” which the FDA applies to “certain medications with serious safety concerns to help ensure the benefits of the medication outweigh its risks.”

Misoprostol use in early pregnancy may incur a risk of uterine rupture in women with prior uterine surgery.

With over half of all abortions now performed with at-home pills, this issue has serious consequences. One of the real issues is how easy it is to force underage women to take an abortion pill secretly by their abusers, including pimps and sex traffickers. Public school districts in California are seeking to “secretly” dispense the abortion pill without parental consent.

The other issue is that Planned Parenthood is accused by life groups of under-reporting adverse events related to abortion pills.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. district court in Washington State, claims that the FDA “hampers access” to the abortion-causing drug mifepristone by “singling [it] out  … for a unique set of restrictions.”

“Medication abortion is now the most common method of abortion
in the United States. For example, almost 60% of abortions in Washington State
are medication abortions.

But FDA has continued to hamper access by singling out
mifepristone—and the people in the Plaintiff States who rely on it for their
reproductive health care—for a unique set of restrictions known as a
Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS). The restrictions on
mifepristone are a particularly burdensome type of REMS known as Elements to FDA Mifepristone U.S. Post-Marketing Adverse Events Summary
through”

Their reasoning for defaulting is as follows:

The REMS certification requirements pose particular hardships in
eastern Washington for providers and pharmacies who serve patients from other states—including Idaho—or who may live in Idaho themselves. For these
providers and pharmacists, putting themselves on a list of abortion providers
raises serious concerns about criminal or civil liability under Idaho’s draconian
anti-abortion laws

These Dems are the same folks who supported vaccine mandates and prosecuted anyone who created fake vaccine cards. Dems regulate your toilets and light bulbs but seek to completely deregulate any safety oversight of abortion pills and clinics.

BTW, Aaron Ford and Sisolak were the top recipients of campaign cash from Planned Parenthood.

Abortion pills are marketed as a safe way to have a painless, private abortion at home. But abortion clinics often hand out the pills like candy without any blood work and/or an ultrasound. And often, women go home and end up giving birth to a dead baby after taking the pills.
