It’s no secret how Pres. Trump feels about Sen. Mitch McConnell following the 2020 elections when McConnell threw Trump under the bus and supported Biden. So when President Donald Trump said on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is a “disaster,” and the Republican Party needs new leadership” it put Laxalt on notice.

Laxalt has been a staunch McConnell supporter while running for the U.S. Senate for Nevada. Back in October, according to campaign sources, U.S. Senate Republican Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, called Fox News in an effort to pressure them to keep Nevada Republican Candidate Sam Brown off the air. Sam Brown ended up raising more than $1.1 Million last quarter which was huge news for any candidate especially a first time Senate candidate.

McConnell once again broke ranks with Trump to support Biden’s infrastructure bill.

Trump said:

“The un-frastructure bill, I call it un-frastructure, not infrastructure. It’s only 9% infrastructure. That means you take 90%, 91% of the money that we’re raising is going to be thrown out the window in order to get 9% infrastructure. There was no way that that should have been passed.”

Trump did not mention Adam Laxalt by name when he said

“Sometimes I’m going a little outside of the box with some because we have candidates that are not strong, they’re RINOs, and they’re not strong. They’re Mitch McConnell-type guys, and he’s a disaster. ”

Laxalt is standing by Mitch McConnell and is refusing to support Trump’s comments.
