LOMBARDO ACCUSED OF LYING TO REPUB ASSEMBLY LEADER JIM WHEELER

According to Republican Assembly Leader Jim Wheeler, Clark County Sheriff Lombardo lied to him about Question 1, the 2016 firearms background check ballot initiative.

It all started in 2016, when Sheriff Lombardo was the only Sheriff in Nevada at the time who refused to oppose Question 1. Question 1, was the ballot measure funded by Michael Bloomberg which would have outlawed the sale of firearms in Nevada between private citizens without an FBI background check.

In October 2016, Governor Sandoval called a special session to fund the Raider’s Stadium and to increase in the sales tax in Clark County called “The More Cops Tax” which Lombardo personally lobbied members of the Nevada Legislature to support. The bill passed.

According to Republican Assemblyman Jim Wheeler, Lombardo personally promised he would come out and oppose Question 1. After all, Lombardo ran on a pro 2nd Amendment Platform in 2014. But instead, Lombardo publicly stayed neutral on Question 1 and it passed by around 10,000 votes.

Other Republican Legislators have confirmed (on background) Lombardo said he would oppose question 1 back in 2016 during the special session.

Sheriff Lombardo has refused to return our calls regarding these accusations.
