CAR DEATHS & DUI’S EXPLODING IN LAS VEGAS THIS YEAR

According to a new report from the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS), fatal car crashes rose by 23.4% this year (2021) in Clark County compared to last year. Clark County had 133 fatal crashes, killing 142 people, through August of 2021. Last year through August, there had been 107 fatal crashes, killing 115 people. Crashes were up 93%.

One of the reasons for the dramatic increase in deaths and crashes, are more lenient judges letting DUI including marijuana DUIs off easier. The dramatic increased use of pot has certainly increased the number of car accidents too.

Nevada Car Fatalities by Year

2018 Nevada had a total of 329 car fatalities

2019 Nevada had a total of 284 car fatalities

2020  Nevada’s 314 car crash fatalities

2021  Nevada had a total of 349 traffic fatalities in 2021 as of the end of November.
