Local Las Vegas lawyer Rena McDonald served several local Las Vegas residents, including (at the time) sitting Nevada Assemblyman Jim Marchant with a Cease and Desist letter for simply sharing a Facebook post about her client. It all started after a video was posted on Facebook of her client, Kassee Bulen, a local Republican political campaign manager who sat for an on camera interview back in March 2018. In the video Bulen appears to be disparaging President Trump.

In the Cease and Desist letter, McDonald demands Marchant and the others remove the shared post from their personal Facebook page “Be further advised that Libel is a crime pursuant to NRS 200.510” McDonald goes on to write “our client will also be seeking prosecution of each and every one of you for your criminal violation.”
