POWER TO PARENTS ERIN PHILIPS BLASTS LAWMAKERS

Power2Parent Executive Board Member Erin Philips didn’t hold back her disappointment and outrage at then-Nevada lawmakers who burned down the ESA (school choice) program. Dems cut off all funding for ESAs, which throw kids in private schools on the streets. Last year, her group sponsored a constitutional ballot initiative for school choice, but liptard judges struck it down, claiming a constitutional ballot initiative was unconstitutional.

360 News spoke with Erin Philips today 

“I am not only disappointed in the lack of school choice passed in the session, I am heartbroken for the kids who will lose their scholarships. These are kids who have found classrooms that are working for them and will have to return to failing schools. We cannot rely on politicians to do what is right for our kids. We are exploring all of the options that are available to bring education freedom to Nevada. Moving forward, we will continue to build our parent army and hold these legislators accountable.”

          Is this aimed at Gov. Lombardo?

Erin Philips responded

“Democrats have never supported school choice. They hate the Opportunity Scholarship Program, which gives scholarships to low-income children. Now those children will lose scholarships. I have spoken with the governor, and we are looking at every available option to help these kids.”

Perhaps now is the time, with the help of the governor, to launch a new effort at fully funding ESAs with a ballot initiative.
