Eventually, the suspect surrendered to Metro Police. What makes the crime so shocking is that Starbucks has a no gun policy in its stores. Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks Coffee, wrote an open letter asking peoplenot to bring guns into their 23,000 stores worldwide. The letter stated: “Today we are respectfully requesting that customers no longer bring firearms into our stores or outdoor seating areas—even in states where “open carry” is permitted—unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel.” NEWSMAXTV Political Contributor Rob Lauer commented on the story: (See Video) “The innocent man killed yesterday was unarmed and respecting Starbucks’ no gun policy when he was shot and killed. Gun Free Zones only protect criminals, not the innocent. Unfortunately, we saw that was again the case yesterday.” According to Metro Police, the suspect drew his gun after his credit card was declined.
