DEMOCRATIC DARK MONEY FUNDING IMMIGRANT VOTING CAMPAIGN FOR CORTEZ MASTO

An online ad has recently started running from a group with the tag line “When Immigrants vote Americans win.” The banner ad clearly shows Catherine Cortez Masto starring in the ad, indicating they are supporting her US Senate race.

The group’s website at “Reform immigration for America.org” has a page directing people to register to vote online. There is no verification of whether the people have legal status to vote, or who is actually collecting the voter information.

The group’s Facebook page is running commercials in Spanish attacking Donald Trump and Joe Heck. The problem is, Joe Heck has been one of the friendliest Republicans toward illegal immigrants, voting in the past for a pathway to citizenship.

The Facebook banner ad and video are examples of dark money in politics, allowed by the US Supreme Court in the decision Citizens United versus Federal Election Commission, that Democrats have been complaining about for the last four years.
The question is, is the group violating the law by trying to register and encourage noncitizens to vote?
NEWSMAXTV LAS VEGAS invited the group to provide a comment, but they have not responded.
