PADDOCK WAS ON THE SAME DRUG “Diazepam” AS JOHN HINKLEY JR. WHEN HE SHOT PRESIDENT REGAN

January 7, 2018

According to reports, alleged Vegas Mass shooter, Stephan Paddock, was prescribed Diazepam, also known as Valium, which, according to the drug maker’s own warning label, may cause suicidal thoughts and aggressiveness/aggression. The public, along with law enforcement, have been bewildered trying to figure out how a 64-year-old man, with zero criminal record, could seemingly out of the blue go on the deadliest mass shooting rampage in the country’s history. The same drug, diazepam, was also prescribed for John Hinckley Jr. before his assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Diazepam’s maker warning label states:

Psychiatric

Common (1% to 10%): Confusion, withdrawal symptoms, euphoria, increased anxiety/anxiety, panic, irritability, delirium, aggressiveness/aggression, numbed emotions, instability, restlessness, agitation, inappropriate behavior, delusions, rage, hallucinations, nightmares, confusional or paranoid psychosis/psychoses, Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination.

Diazepam is a benzodiazepine (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peens). It affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety.

According to published news reports, Paddock received a prescription for fifty 10-milligram tablets of diazepam on June 21, 2017, from Henderson physician Dr. Steven Winkler.

In 1983 Timothy J. McCarthy, a Secret Service agent, who suffered a gunshot wound in the assassination attempt by Hinkley, James Brady, President Regan’s press secretary, and D.C. Police officer Thomas Delahanty all retained attorney Paul Kamenar to sued Hinckley’s doctor, Dr. John Hopper Jr. of Colorado, for negligence and misdiagnosis, seeking$14 million.

Through the discovery process, Kamenar came to believe there was ample evidence that Hinckley’s mental condition deteriorated as a result of taking diazepam, ultimately leading to his assassination attempt on President Regan and injuring his clients.

Kamenar has spoken out recently asking whether there were any similar drugs prescribed to all mass shooters.

Now, 33 years later, the same drug is sparking serious concerns again that it may be the cause of another horrific crime. Several people in government are asking whether drugs like Diazepam are at the root of the problem causing a huge spike in the last ten-years in mass shootings.

Las Vegas Council Woman Michele Fiore has called for an investigation of Psychiatric Drugs.

In addition, Council Woman Fiore and Councilman Steve Seroka are leading the charge to hold opioid manufacturers accountable for the hundreds of millions of dollars it costs the city to deal with, not to mention the mountain of dead it’s left in its wake.

President Trump has declared opioids a national epidemic. It soon may be time to do the same with certain Psychiatric drugs if a link is discovered to mass shootings in America.
