NV LT GOV. Stavros Anthony DEFEATS TRANSGENDERS IN SPORTS

Social issues drive voters to the polls. Yet most Nevada Republican candidates shied away from transgender issues in 2024 and lost. One brave Republican did the opposite and took the lead on this highly emotionally charged social issue. Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony took on and led on this issue from the very beginning of his term in office.

Anthony advocated for the thousands of female athletes in our schools who were intimidated into silence over the last four years by the Democrats who ruled the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) with an iron fist. The NIAA is the official governing body of high school sports .

Even after this all came to a head this year when President Trump signed an Executive Order protecting female athletes from male competitors, most Nevada Republicans remained silent on the issue. But not Stavros. Anthony started the Task Force to Protect Women’s Sports. He pushed even harder and won.

The NIAA just voted to comply with Trump’s Executive Order and ban males from female sports in high school.

Lt. Gov. Anthony took a well-earned victory lap and issued the following statement:

“I commend the NIAA for taking this important and courageous step. Today’s vote sends a clear message: Nevada values and protects opportunities for female athletes. Girls deserve a level playing field, and this action helps ensure they can compete, grow, and succeed without having to compromise safety or fairness.”

We still have a long way to go. All of these positive developments can and will be reversed the next time Dems run the government. All of this must be codified in law. We need a state law or ballot initiative to make this permanent.
