NV AG CHARGES TRUMP REPUB LEADERS, AGAIN

Dec 12, 2024

In a brazen act of lawfare, Nevada Attorney General has refiled criminal charges of offering a false instrument for filing and uttering a forged instrument against Nevada’s Republican leadership, including Clark County Republican Chairman Jesse Law, Nevada GOP Chairman Micheal McDonald, Vice Chair Jim DeGraffenreid, Durward James Hindle III, Shawn Meehan, and Eileen Rice, charges that carry penalties of up to four or five years in prison.

This is Ford’s second crack at the same charges he filed back in 2023 in Clark County District Court. The judge threw out those charges for lack of jurisdiction. Even though the Nevada Supreme Court is still reviewing the first case thrown out, Ford has decided to file this new case on the same charges in Carson City just in case he loses the appeal.

Ford said

“We have filed these charges in Carson City as a preemptive measure to ensure that the statute of limitations on this charge does not lapse,” Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford said in a statement Thursday. “My office still believes that Clark County is an appropriate venue for this case and will continue to seek a ruling from the Nevada Supreme Court to return to the Eighth Judicial District Court. While we disagree with the finding of improper venue and will continue to seek to overturn it, we are preserving our legal rights in order to ensure that these fake electors do not escape justice. The actions the fake electors undertook in 2020 violated Nevada criminal law and were direct attempts to both sow doubt in our democracy and undermine the results of a free and fair election. Justice requires that these actions not go unpunished. This is not going away.”

President Trump carried Nevada by some 50K votes or 3 points almost. Now Trump’s Nevada Republican leadership is under attack again.

Ford accidentally announced he’s running for governor today, which makes his actions today clearly politically motivated and possibly a civil rights violation.

On March 31, 2023 Dem AG Aaron ford tweeted out the following

Yesterday, after President Trump was indicted Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford issued numerous statements on his official Twitter page including

“Today’s indictment of former President Trump is a necessary step toward ensuring nobody – former presidents included – is above the law.”

And then this one

“We have seen Trump attempt to stoke a backlash against this indictment in a manner that alarmingly resembles the public statements he made in the lead up to the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.”

Ford then wade in on the validity of charges with this statement:

“We must push back on any notion that this indictment is political. This is a bad faith argument meant to distract from the hard work done by law enforcement in uncovering evidence and securing this indictment.

He then call for calm:

“I do believe the American people see past the former president’s statements, but I want to urge calm in the aftermath of today’s events. The legal process must take its course. I, like many Americans, will be watching closely.”

We can thank Chuck Muth for losing Sigal’s race to this guy. This should have been an easy pickup.
