NATIONAL JEWISH GROUP CALLS FOR UNLV PRES. TO RESIGN

Yesterday, 360 News reported that (the New Nazis) Nevadans for Palestinian Liberation (NPL), a UNLV-authorized group’s own charter, calls for the destruction of Israel. NPL’s actions have drawn the attention of national Jewish groups who are now calling for UNLV President Whitfield to resign.

Last month, NPL stormed the lecture of Jewish Professor Asaf Peer from Israel. He was in town for an international astrophysics conference. He was invited to speak at UNLV on the topic of black holes. His lecture was disrupted by the good little Nazis NPL students chanting, Go home Jew you’re not welcome here, according to news reports.

Campus police cancelled the lecture instead of removing the Muslim NPL protesters. UNLV (Spokes-hole) Director of Public Affairs Francis McCabe said

“After conferring with University Police, UNLV faculty decided to pause the lecture by Prof. Asaf Peer as a result of the interruptions,” McCabe said via email. “University Police then accompanied the guest lecturer to his vehicle as a precaution only.”

Why would the police need to escort the Jewish professor out “as a precaution” other than to protect him from violence?

Almost two months have passed, and DEI and BLM activist, UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield, refuses to take any action against the NPL students. Even after they called for the death of the Jewish state in a protest on campus this past weekend.

In response, Sam Markstein, the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) National Political Director and Communications Director, told 360 News:

“It is unthinkable that in 2024, Jewish students and faculty are afraid for their safety on university campuses. These antisemitic mobs are being cheered on and supported by actual terrorists – Hamas, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the genocidal Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. That should tell you all you need to know about these protests. The anti-America, anti-Israel, and antisemitic activity that has spread to over 30 schools across the country evokes the darkest days for the Jewish people, when Jews were harassed, attacked, and barred from university campuses in the 1930’s. If the leaders at UNLV cannot ensure the safety and security of Jewish students on campus, they must step aside and be replaced by those who will.”

360 News emailed the UNLV President, seeking more information about the events surrounding the NPL group’s effort to cancel a Jewish professor from Israel here lecturing on black holes in space. Again nothing.

RJC was started and funded by the late Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson.

Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Sam Brown also blasted the UNLV leadership.
