After a second hearing yesterday on a temporary restraining order (TRO) filed by Dennis Hof after the Nye County Commission voted last week not to renew his Brothel license, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Boulware ruled in Hof’s favor. Hof’s Love Ranch Brothel is now open for business again.

Boulware questioned, in open court, the motives of the Nye County Commission for voting against Hof. Boulware speculated that the Nye County Commission had voted to strip Hof’s license after he filed several civil rights law suits against them recently, saying the burden shifted to Nye County to prove their actions were not in retaliation. Hof’s motion claimed Nye County had violated his Due Process rights.

At the initial TRO hearing last week on Wednesday, Judge Boulware gave Nye County an opportunity to produce witnesses that could support their vote to close Hof’s Brothel. They failed and Hof’s brothel was ordered re-opened yesterday.
