NV REPUB VOTER TURNOUT A TOTAL DISASTER

2024 Nevada Republican Primary after action report. Nevada’s statewide total voter turnout was 326,276 voters, or 16.28% of total registered voters. Which, by the way, is made up of just over 65% of the total number of people living in Nevada. That means just over 12% of the people picked the leaders for the rest of us. Shameful and a disgrace. Maybe we’re all better off that the lazy, mask wearing window-lickers didn’t bother to vote?

• Active Registered Voters 2,004,140
• Total Turnout 326,276 (16.28%)

Republicans have 538,000 registered voters statewide. Of those, only 59,600 actually bothered to vote. That’s only 16.64% for those of you who went to public school in Las Vegas.

Dems slaughtered Republicans yesterday on turnout. Even though Dems’ turnout was just over 81,500 or 17.40% of their total of 468,882 registered voters, that adds up to almost 40% more actual Dems voting.

The Republican Party needs to take a good, hard look in the mirror and make hard choices if it wants to survive this decade electorally. At the rate at which Nevada is going, we’re turning into a one-party state like California.

With such low turnout, it’s no surprise that there were no big surprises in this primary. Most of the candidates who started out as the leading favorites to win won.

The newly minted Lombardo political machine’s endorsed candidates won most of their primary races. But his machine will not truly be legit without substantial wins in the general election this fall.

CD4 looks to be in play this year, with long-time North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee taking on Congressman Horsford.

Sam Brown crushed all the up and comers and now faces the political fight of his life. Sam Brown, Drew Johnson, and John Lee can only win if Republicans up their game and turn out their voters. Trump may be their only hope to drive voters to the polls in the fall. Clearly, without Trump on the ballot, most Republicans didn’t bother to vote.

For those of you who lost, remember that elections are all about name ID. So even though you may have lost this time, don’t give up. All that hard work you put in was not wasted. Keep running for the same seat. Help the Republican primary winner in your race, knock on doors and stay engaged. Play the long game.

• 1838: Sought to become speaker of the state legislature – defeated.
• 1840: Sought to become elector – defeated.
• 1843: Ran for Congress – lost.
• 1846: Ran for Congress again – this time he won – went to Washington and did a good job.
• 1848: Ran for re-election to Congress – lost.
• 1849 Sought the job of land officer in his home state – rejected.
• 1854: Ran for Senate of the United States – lost.
• 1856: Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party’s national convention – got less than 100 votes.
• 1858: Ran for U.S. Senate again – again he lost.
• 1860: Elected president of the United States.
