April Becker Running For Clark County Commission District C

LAS VEGAS- Today, April Becker announced her candidacy for Clark County Commission District C. April Becker will face first-term Clark County Commissioner Ross Miller, a former Nevada Secretary of State and son of Nevada Governor Bob Miller. Ross Miller barely edged out Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony in 2020 in District C in a very controversial election that triggered a recount and lawsuit.

In fact, the elections department originally said Stavros Anthony won the election. However, there was a discrepancy of 139 ballots, which could not be accounted for, and on November 16, 2020, the Clark County Commissioners voted 6-1 to acknowledge and accept the professional and trusted opinion of the Registrar and asked for a special election.

Then politics took over.

Ross Miller, a lawyer, was quick to file legal action, and in the span of 15 days, the care and diligence the commissioners opined in the prior vote vanished, and while nothing changed in the vote count or the 139 discrepancies, they voted 7-0 to reverse their decision to hold a special election and certified the election.

“The Clark County Commission has become a source of constant embarrassment,” said Becker. “Ross Miller’s rude and dismissive comments to a Clark County business owner show his lack of judgment and character. Their business matters to me, and the risk that all small business owners take is appreciated by myself and our community. Unfortunately, Ross Miller woke up on third base and thought he hit a triple; he doesn’t recognize the hard work and sacrifice it takes to succeed and grow a business. I’m running to restore honesty, transparency, and accountability to Clark County’s commission. I look forward to getting results for the people who call our community home and bringing leadership with integrity to our county commission.”
