HomePoliticsNEW LAW: DEMS WANT ADVANCED “CODE ENFORCEMENT” DRONES Politics NEW LAW: DEMS WANT ADVANCED “CODE ENFORCEMENT” DRONES February 4, 2023 Rob Lauer Political Reporter Next time you’re at home and you hear a buzzing noise, that just might be your local government drone inspecting your home and then emailing you a code enforcement ticket. That’s if the Dem’s new bill, Senate Bill SB11, passes. Dems are pushing a new bill to allow local governments to use drones to inspect your home and business any time they like, day or night, all under the guise of code enforcement and inspections. Today’s drones are far more advanced than simply video recording and photographing. They can capture all electronic signals, i.e., your cell phone traffic, you speaking in your home, ect. They can use night vision, thermal imaging, and infrared to peer into your home through your walls. NPRI Put out the following statement: We Oppose It: The use of UAVs by local governments raises privacy concerns and potential 4th Amendment violations. The constitutionality of such legislation is in question. SB11 as written, has no privacy safeguards what so ever, including limiting public access to those recordings, including by law enforcement. It’s not hard to imagine thousands of AI drones flying over a city one day, governing all human activity, lawful or not.
