Clark County School Pres. Irene Cepeda personally banned a parent who criticized the sex ed purposed curriculum last month at a public school board meeting during her 2-minute allotted time. Local parent and activist, Stephanie Kinsley, was met at the CCSD meeting by school police, who issued her a letter banning her from the school board meeting signed personally by Irene Cepeda. The Moms For Liberty rose up to challenge the trans movement across the country and were called domestic terrorists by the Biden Justice Department. One member of that group ran for Clark County School Board, a mother named Lorena Cardenas. By every measure she was a rank political amateur. She had no political experience, no money, and no one thought she had a prayer of a chance to win. But the one thing Lorena had was prayer and faith. Faith, as a mom, doing the right thing and protecting her daughter and family from the crazies on the Clark County School Board. Lorena never wanted to run for office. She didn’t crave political power and attention. And Lorena definitely ran an amateur race, unable to raise money running against a teachers union-funded crazy Dem. After a come-to-Jesus moment in Lorena’s fledgling campaign and actually listening to some good advice, she got laser-focused. Instead of trying to run on a dozen issues, she focused on one issue: protecting her kids from the trans ideology. It takes money to communicate issues to voters. She didn’t have any money. So her one message was this: “When I get elected, I will end the transgender ideology. Not only did Lorena win, but she won by a landslide in Deep Dark Blue Clark County with over 58% of the vote. She knocked on doors and met parents outside their schools and anywhere she could get her message out. Way too many Republicans feared running against the trans issue. They feared what the media would saying about them. They feared being called names. It turns out most parents do not support letting boys in girls sports, in girls’ locker rooms, or in girls bathrooms. Lorena’s message had power because she is authentic, a real mom trying desperately to protect her children. Lorena’s very first act after winning was of course to thank God. “Thank you, first and foremost, to my gracious Lord who has never left me and has once again shown me that the power of prayer is above all things.”
