ELY,NV LAWSUIT JUST FILED TO BLOCK SISOLAK “PERMANENT EMERGENCY POWERS”

Reno Attorney, Joey Gilbert, just dropped a lawsuit in conservative Ely, White Pine County seeking an end to Governor Sisolak’s permanent emergency status going on 9 months now.

Gilbert filed the lawsuit on behalf of Central Cinema of Ely. Last night, Sisolak announced another arbitrary change in rules for the state, including reducing restaurant capacity down to 25% and requiring folks going to even fast food restaurants to have reservations. But the Hospital association put out a chart showing no such emergency exists.

Gilbert’s lawsuit seeks a Temporary Restraining Order and application for permanent injunction was filed Friday late afternoon and could result in potential oral arguments in Ely Nevada this week. It should be interesting to see what a Conservative Judge from a Northern Nevada county does. If the judge grants the order the Nevada Supreme Court may be forced to weigh in or leave any such order in place.

Gilbert issued the following statement:

“The fact that there were two special sessions of our legislature, at relevant times during the pandemic and this was never discussed is problematic. They focused on the mail in ballot scandal and social justice nonsense of defunding the police.
As a result, the Governor has created a permanent emergency now extending nine months, which is no longer, and NEVER WAS an emergency requiring this extensive government overreach into our personal lives.”
