And according to sources there on the ground, the enemies of Trump on the rules committee are right now scheming to steal the nomination from Trump. Donald Trump currently has 1,542 delegates, which is almost 200 delegates more than he needs to win the nomination. But, if the rules committee can change the number of delegates needed to win then that would throw open the door to an open convention. And some on the rules committee want to unbound the delegates so they can vote “their consciences.” The backroom deal making is in full swing as the Rules Committee is set to start offical their “official” session this week.
