AB 291, the so called “October 1”  bill, is a composition of several subjects including banning bump stocks, lowering blood alcohol limits to possess firearms, outlawing trigger modifications, banning firearms in public buildings and allowing counties to make their own gun laws more restrictive than current state laws. Now the Democrats have attached an amendment including Red Flags laws allowing a judge to strip citizen’s of their gun rights on hearsay.

With less than a few weeks left in the 2019 session now is the time when all kinds of stuff is hidden laws.

Don Turner of the NVFAC issued the following statement regarding AB291 “The anti-gun members of the Nevada Legislature are scheming to amend AB 291 to include the red flag law.  Please call them, email them and post your opposition to AB 291 and any proposed amendments to this bill. We need your help to continue making sure the committee knows how much opposition there is to this bill.”

Nevada Democrat’s overreach on gun control has sparked a backlash that includes some 12 Sheriffs across the state who’ve signed a pledge not to enforce unconstitutional gungrab laws. In addition, a lawsuit is in the works to challenge the laws this year.
