Friends, I want to thank you all for your prayers and faith. Unfortunately, our young detective lost his battle for life this morning. I have been touched by your faith and concern for this fine young man, his family, and his PD brothers and sisters. Our city has not lost an officer in the line of duty since 1995 and this is very tragic news. When I was at the hospital yesterday, I was so touched by the spirit of love and prayers as hundreds of our police, fire and other employees lined the halls of the building. I was overcome by their concern for their brethren as I have been touched by your prayers and concern. Please, keep our detective, his family, and our police department in your thoughts and prayers. Do something today in their honor to serve someone, make a person’s day a little brighter, make someone feel protected and loved. Our watch and our duty to help another must continue!
