LVMPD OFFICER WHO FROZE DURING VEGAS MASS SHOOTING FIRED

July 3, 2019

Las Vegas Metro Police Officer, Cordell Hendrex, was fired March 20, 2019. Hendrex was the officer seen in the video frozen in fear, refusing to enter the Mandalay hotel room where a mass shooter rain terror down on the Route 91 Concert goers, killing some 58 people and wounding over 500.

Hendrex admitted in a police report that he was “terrified with fear” saying “I froze right there in the middle of the hall for how long I can’t say,”

In 2018, after a long drawn out legal process, Metro finally released video, under court order, showing Hendrex’s Police body camera video. Hendrex can be seen waiting in the hallway of Mandalay Bay’s 31st floor stairwell for about five minutes cowering in fear. All the while the gunman continued to fire at innocent victims below. According to the video, Hendrex remained in the hallway for some 15 minutes.
