DID POLICE UNCOVER AN ACTIVE PEDOPHILE  RING IN CCSD?

March 30, 2017

Over the last three years, 2014, 2015, 2016, over 30 Adults, mostly male teachers, have been arrested inside Clark County School District by police for sexual misconduct. This year they have already arrested eight people for sexual misconduct, including one kindergarten teacher for kidnapping a 16 year old girl and keeping her in his apartment as a sex slave.

Melvyn Sprowson, a former kindergarten teacher, is currently standing trial for kidnapping a 16 year old schoolgirl and holding her as a sex slave in his apartment.

At Henderson middle Thurman White Academy, teacher Gregory Beasley, 57, was arrested on three counts of unlawful contact with a minor, Clark County School District police said.

Henderson teacher Jeffrey Schultz was arrested for alleged indecency toward a student. Schultz had already been investigated twice before, including one at a previous school.

Many parents are alarmed by what one described as an alleged active pedophile ring inside CCSD.

Kevin Child, CCSD Trustee, is calling for a round table discussion with teacher Unions, school police and CCSD officials. Child said “The CCSD Police do an amazing job but they are understaffed.” Child went on to ask the State Legislature for additional funds to hire ten detectives to create a task force to weed out pedophiles in the district.

When asked if there is any evidence that the pedophiles knew each other and possibly shared pictures or any other materials with each other Child said CCSD needs more resources to investigate that.

Las Vegas Metro Police does not typically investigate CCSD crimes. That’s the jurisdiction of CCSD Police. CCSD current has over 300,000 students, 35,000 employees, 336 schools to police with less than 128 officers. By comparison, the City of Henderson with a population of around 300,000 has 391 sworn police officers.
